AFRICA MUSLIMS AGENCY (AMA) PROVIDES AID AMIDST UNREST ACROSS SA
As the looting and unrest have gripped South Africa this week, Africa Muslims Agency (AMA) has been working to deliver assistance to communities in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
The AMA team has been working with communities in KZN to transport essential items such as milk, bread, nappies and baby formula into suburbs so that people can access these high-demand products.
AMA has also lent assistance in Fordsburg, Gauteng after shops were looted and people left with nothing. AMA arranged premises and provided ingredients for locals to cook and feed the community meals during these difficult days.
Efforts are expanding as requests for essentials pour in, and as the rest of South Africa looks for ways to assist those in need within KZN.
AMA is securing “bread kits” which will include flour, oil, yeast and milk to allow people to bake bread and distribute it within their communities. AMA remains responsive to the changing situation on the ground and is working to provide whatever communities may require.
