A Call for Support: The Ali Family’s Journey of Resilience

The Ali family (Palestinian Refugees) has faced unimaginable challenges, and their struggle has only deepened in recent months. Just a few days ago, they lost their anchor, Ibrahim Samer Ali, to lymphatic cancer. A dedicated husband and father of five, Ibrahim endured excruciating pain during his final days, compounded by paralysis in his right leg after a devastating accident. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the family especially for his younger children, Mohammad and Jad.

Now, the family’s survival rests on Hamda Dawoud Khdeir, Ibrahim’s 45-year-old widow. Despite her own grief, Hamda takes on occasional house-cleaning jobs to provide for her children. But her sporadic income barely scratches the surface of what they need to survive.

The Ali children are doing their best to contribute, but their efforts fall heartbreakingly short:

• Hadi (21) works tirelessly as a daily laborer, but what he earns is nowhere near enough to meet the family’s needs.

• Farah (19): A young woman who dreams of a better future, but limited opportunities constrain her.
• Nour (17): A divorced mother of two young children, Joud (3 years old) and Fatima (2 years old), who is currently staying at her parents’ house after her husband left them. Despite her youth, Nour shoulders the immense responsibility of raising her children.
• Mohammad (12): A 7th grader who tries to focus on his studies amidst the family’s hardships.
• Jad (9): A 4th grader who suffers from weak eyesight, which makes learning difficult and requires medical attention that the family cannot afford.

The family lives in a small, cramped home consisting of just two rooms, barely providing enough space for the eight members. With their father gone, they face the crushing reality of their circumstances, unsure of how they will survive the next.
